A holiday in Brittany is a perfect time to savour some of local traditional food and drinks. Here are just a few to whet your appetite!
Galettes, which are savoury pancakes and crepes which are the sweet version are probably the most well known dishes from Brittany. There is no shortage of very good "Creperies" in the area for you to try the vast amount of tasty fillings on offer from, ham, mushrooms and sausage to fruits, berries and chocolate.
Seafood
With such an amazing coastline it's not surprising that Brittany is a favourite destination for seafood lovers. Whether you prefer scallops, oysters, crabs or prawns there is a vast array on offer. The most traditional of Breton seafood dishes is "Moules Marinières" cooked in white wine and shallots.
This traditional delicious dessert is not to be missed. Normally with prunes the tart is filled with a rich, creamy custard .

Cidre Breton
To wash down this delicious food, the most traditional Breton drink, cider. Enjoyed from a ceramic bowl the drink is made from local apples is a great accompaniment to crepes.
